This year for Valentines Day, instead of feeling sorry for ourselves because we don’t have a special person in our life and instead of giving into the consumerist culture of buying flowers and cards, we went to a local nursing home to share the message of God’s love with the residents there. We sang songs about how God is our Heavenly Father and loves us. We heard a message about how God forgives and loves sinners like us. And then we made crafts with the residents that had verses from the Bible about God’s love for them. It was a very joyful time. Afterwards, we went out for some local frozen yogurt.
